MEMBERSHIP IN THE INSTITUTE FOR ENERGY LAW

Membership in the Institute for Energy Law is available to individuals, corporations, law firms, government agencies and other organizations interested in energy law issues.

Each IEL Member is entitled to appoint one or more representatives to the Advisory Board. (Supporting Members may designate three Advisory Board representatives, and Sustaining Members may designate six or more Advisory Board representatives).

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES AND BENEFITS:

Associate Membership -- $650
(available only to individuals)

  • Membership on the Institute’s Advisory Board;
  • Free attendance at the Annual Oil and Gas Law Conference (non-member price: $595); or the Power and Alternative Energy Conference (non-member price: $445)
  • Cost-free attendance at the Advisory Board’s annual meeting, reception and dinner on the eve of the Annual Conference;
  • The opportunity to participate in the committees, leadership and other activities of the Advisory Board;
  • A 20% discount at all other IEL programs;*
  • A 10% discount on IEL/Matthew Bender publications: The Oil and Gas Reporter and the Proceedings of the Oil and Gas Law Program;
  • Free subscription to IEL's quarterly e-newsletter The Energy Law Advisor, the members-only IEL Online Forum and the Energy Law Online Articles Index, and
  • Recognition as an Associate Member in IEL and CAIL publications.

Sponsoring Membership – $1,000
(available to individuals, corporations, firms, and other organizations)

  • One representative on the Institute’s Advisory Board, who is entitled to all of the benefits of Associate Membership described above; and
  • Recognition as a Sponsoring Member in IEL and CAIL publications.

Supporting Membership – $2,500
(available to corporations, firms, and other organizations)

  • Three representatives on the Institute’s Advisory Board, each of whom is entitled to all of the benefits of Associate Membership described above;
  • A 20% discount for all other attorneys and employees at all IEL programs;* and
  • Recognition as a Supporting Member in IEL and CAIL publications.

Sustaining Membership – $5,000
(available to corporations, firms, and other organizations)

  • Six (or more) representatives on the Institute’s Advisory Board, each of whom is entitled to all of the benefits of Associate Membership described above;
  • The right to designate an unlimited number of additional representatives to the Advisory Board (add $500 dues for each additional representative);
  • A 20% discount for all other attorneys and employees at all IEL programs;* and
  • Recognition as a Sustaining Member in IEL and CAIL publications.

Academic, Government, Non-profit Membership – $395
(available to universities, government agencies, non-profit corporations and individuals employed full-time at such organizations)

  • All of the benefits of Sponsoring Membership (for organizations) or Associate Membership (for individuals) described above; and
  • Recognition as an Academic/Government/Non-Profit Member in IEL and Center publications.

* The exact discount at programs co-sponsored with other organizations varies from program to program, but is customarily approximately 20%. or more. For a calendar of IEL programs Click here.
